Adnan Osman Elmi Boqore was elected to fill his father's seat
Mogadishu (HOL) - The son of a slain legislator has been elected as a Member of Parliament from Somaliland.
Adnan Osman Elmi Boqore was easily elected to fill his father's seat, winning 48 of a possible 51 votes.
According to Somali National Independent Electoral Commission, his rival, Ahmed Osman Hashi got two votes while one vote got spoil.
Osman Elmi Boqor, the father of the new lawmaker was killed by jihadists Al-Shabaab in February near his house in Mogadishu.
The slain MP was a long-time member of the Federal Parliament.
