Gunmen attack kills Badhan local council lawmaker in Bosaso town

    Bosaso (HOL) - Badhan local council lawmaker, Abdirahman Haji Mohamed, passed away on Thursday due to severe injuries sustained in an attack by gunmen in Bosaso town on Wednesday night.

    Local witnesses report that the armed group responsible for the killing of the MP fled the scene.

    No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the Puntland regional state has yet to comment on the matter.

    Last week, al Shabab carried out a nighttime attack at a security checkpoint in the port city of Bosaso in Puntland.

    According to the authorities, Puntland troops pushed back the attackers with immediate reinforcements, as their goal was to overrun the checkpoint.
