Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) -- Al Shabab ambush in the central Somali town of El Bur has engulfed the lives of at least six people while ten others were wounded over night.
The fighting broke out after heavily armed militants infiltrated into the town and attacked the bases of Ethiopian contingent of AMISOM and Somali government forces who are stationed there.
A Somali government military official in the town said that the fighting lasted for more than an hour, before the militants were repulsed back.
The unnamed Somali military officer in the town told local media that three militants have been captured during last night’s battle in the town.
Al Shabab fighters were not yet available for comment, but the town still remains under the AU and Somali government forces.
