Security has been beefed up in Beledweyne , after numerous attacks targeted Ethiopian
and government forces in the city.
Several attacks were carried out by Alshabab using cars with
explosives and snipers since they have later claimed responsibility.
Hiiraan Online reporter in Beledweyne Abdirahman Dini says he has seen a heavy presence of military personnel
at the two bridges crossing the city and the check points carrying out screenings,
yet local residents hailed the move.
Government officials say they want to insure security of the city to avoid more
instability blaming Alshabaab of undermining security in the area.
Somali government and Ethiopian forces claim victory over Alshabab, but the
group is still capable of carrying out deadly attacks on so called liberated cities
and towns in the country.
