The Omani Relief Team continued for the second consecutive week
distribution of Omani aid for displaced people in Somalia. The Chief Executive Officer of Oman Charitable Organisation said that the 1,000 tonne relief includes medicines, foodstuff and shelter materials. The team has completed distribution of aid in Hargeisa and has moved to Burao.
The upcoming batch of aid will be allocated for southern parts of
Somalia (Gedo, Upper and Lower Juba regions including Kismayo).
Earlier,
the Omani Relief Team distributed aid in camps and the hospitals in the
northern cities of Somalia. It is worth mentioning here that the
Sultanate is always at the forefront of humanitarian and charitable
activities.
The Sultanate has earlier sent aid to countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Palestine, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
