HM receives message from Somalia

MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has received a written message from President Abdullah Yousef Ahmed of Somalia.

 

The message was received by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, deputy prime minister for the Council of Ministers, when he received General Mohammed Said Harthi, adviser to the Somali president for national security and intelligence and his envoy, here yesterday.

 

Harthi conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Somali president to His Majesty the Sultan, his government and the Omani people. The conversation covered the latest developments in Somalia and their impact on the security and stability in the Horn of Africa.

 

It also dealt with the ties between the two brotherly countries.

 

Sayyid Fahd asked the guest to convey the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to the Somali president and the government and his wishes that stability and development prevail in the different parts of Somalia.

 

The meeting was attended by Hassan Mohammed Siyad, ambassador of Somalia to the Sultanate.
