Kismayo (HOL) - Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has concluded his trip to Kismayo on Saturday.
The PM held a press conference with Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe. He told the regional President that he is responsible for ensuring that fair elections are held in Kismayo and Garbahare.
"Jubbaland is responsible for the Kismayo and Garbaharey elections, and we will hold President Ahmed accountable for the elections. I hope God will be with me," said Prime Minister Roble.
The Prime Minister held a consultative meeting with the Jubbaland Electoral Commission, urging them to carry out their duties honestly and efficiently.
The Prime Minister travelled to Garbaharey later on Saturday, where he will focus on electoral reconciliation efforts.
The Gedo Reconciliation Commission appointed by the PM will also visit Garbaharey, where they will attend a reconciliation conference that Roble is expected to chair.
President Madobe thanked the PM for organizing elections and for their frank discussions during his visit.
