Thursday November 5, 2015

Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi and US Ambassador Robert Godec yesterday.

US Ambassador Robert Godec has praised the strides made by devolution.

He cited the changes brought about by devolution in Northeastern.

Godec spoke in Wajir town on Tuesday during the inspection of a hangar at the KDF army base.

He said he is impressed by the gains made by marginalised counties, such as Wajir.

“Roads are being built, children are getting educated and water is flowing in places that never saw such activities a few years ago,” Godec said.

The US Ambassador met the clerics, women representatives, youth and persons living with disability.

He was made a Somali elder.

Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi said this administration is determined to improve lives of residents.

He urged the US government to continue supporting Kenya with funds and security surveillance.

“Despite our neighbouring counties experiencing some security incidents, Wajir remains a relatively peaceful place, thanks to cooperation the residents have with the security officers,” Abdullahi said.
