More than 40 Minnesota soldiers are preparing to deploy to the Horn of Africa.
The soldiers from the Army Reserve’s Charlie Company, 407th Civil Affairs Battalion, said goodbye to family and friends Wednesday during a farewell ceremony at the Arden Hills Army Reserve Center.
The unit will work as part of a combined joint task force in Djibouti for a year, which is just north of Somalia. They will support anti-terrorism and anti-piracy efforts there.
