At least one person has been injured in a blast in Eastleigh’s Mlango Kubwa area in Nairobi. Hiiraan Online learnt that a man on foot hurled a grenade at a crowd 15 meters from Al Hidaya Mosque, where a blast killed five and injured 38 people among them the Kamukunji MP Mr Yussuf Hassan.
The grenade, according to an eye witness rolled away from crowd standing outside the mosque before exploding and seriously injuring one person.
Hiiraan Online was told that more police have been deployed to the area that has become notorious with grenade attack, so as to manage security, making it an operational area.
The attack come barely two weeks after two blast that killed 6 people and more than thirty nursing serious injuries in Nairobi’s “California” estate and Al- Hidaya Mosque in Eastleigh.
The MP was since flown out of the country, to South Africa for further treatment.
