Somaliland Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Abdillahi Omar speaking to the press at his office said his government and the people of Somaliland send their condolences to the people of Somalia, the Transitional Federal Government and Mogadishu residents for the coward attacks of the terrorist group Al Shabaab. Dr. Mohamed Abdillahi Omar said we ask the international community to help those that were hurt on yesterday’s bombing as they need an urgent medical care.
The Minister said Somaliland remains resolute on the fight against terrorism and that police and army forces have been put on high alert after yesterday’s truck bombing of Al Shabaab in Mogadishu. We also asked our citizens to be more vigilant and report any suspicious people or activities to the police.
Dr. Mohamed went on to say the only way to fight back these terrorist group is to have all regional governments work together as precautionary measure against terrorism. Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Abdullahi Omar concluded the press meeting by saying “Al Shabaab terrorist group is a threat to the East Africa and the entire world unless they are stopped”. Yesterday’s truck bombing in Mogadishu has been condemned by the world and Al Shabaab terrorist group has promise to continue their terrorist tactic.
