KUWAIT, Aug 28 (KUNA) -- The continuous Kuwaiti aid relief being sent to Somalia has resulted in a sense of gratitude among the Somali government and its people, Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Barjas Al-Barjas said Sunday.This assistance comes at a troublesome period in the history of Somalia and represents only the first phase of donations ordered by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Al-Barjas told KUNA.
The size of this aid is around 5,340 tonnes in addition to Ramadan meals for some 250,000 displaced individuals in refugee camps, he said.
KRCS is proud to be providing, delivering and overseeing the distribution of this aid, and Kuwaiti aid provided is unique, in that it fits the needs of the Somali people, he stressed.
