In a press release the parliamentary committee of justice ruled that the president did not carry out consultations as required by the Constitution.

" Appointments are required to be made by the President according to the constitution  and this appointment is unconstitutional”. said Shiekh Jama Haji Hussein the chairman of the Parliamentary committee of justice.

Mr. Jama told the reporters that the Nomination of the Chief Justice was not consulted with the Parliamentary Committee of Judiciary and Justice .

Jama called that the act further deepens the lack of cooperation with in the Government Institutions.

“ As a Committee we see this Nomination as unconstitutional because The new chief Justice was appointed with out sacking the former Chief justice”. Said Mr. Jama.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary committee of Judiciary and Justice urged the Government Institutions to cooperate in order to achieve a common goal.

Mr. Jama also appealed to the government Leaders to consult with the parliament in any Nominations they are making saying that the parliament is the legislative Body of the Government.

The ruling of the parliamentary committee comes a week after the president sacked the former chief justice and appointed Mr. Aidid Abdullahi as the new chief justice of the High Court and was sworn in last week.
