Somali pirates shift attacks to ‘safe’ regions

SOMALI pirates have once again shifted their area of focus. AKE’s Marine Piracy Threat Assessment shows a rise in the number of pirate attacks in the Arabian Sea and a notable fall in the number of attacks taking place off the east coast of Africa in June.

Ships are now at risk of attack in regions previously considered to be moderately safe...
