Hanad who is pre-med at a local university falls in love with Yasmin a young Somali girl, who like him is pre med at his school.   Hanad comes from a small farming town outside of Mogadishu and is proud of his culture history and language almost to a fault.

Yasmin on the other hand does not speak the language, doesn’t understand a thing about Somali culture or heritage and has a father that has strategically removed her from having contact with any Somalis throughout her life. Once he finds out that his precious daughter is marrying a “Somali man” he is quick to react negatively. On top of that Yasmin and Hanad decide they want to get married in Somalia with his family present. When they go to Somalia Hanad meets and falls in love with his brother’s fiancée DEQA.   This is their story.  This play will make you laugh, and cheer and leave the theatre in great spirits insha allah.

I hope this explains what we are doing.
