Bujumbura, Burundi (Afriqueenligne)  - Burundian soldiers preparing for deployment as part of the African union peacekeeping mission in Somalia Thursday received their certificates after six weeks of peacekeeping training, Burundi's Armed Forces said here.

The soldiers belong to the two battalions (1,800 soldiers) being prepared for deployment to Somalia.

Burundian Army Spokesman, Lt.-Col. Adolphe Manirakiza, said the soldiers' technical training was now enough for them to immediately start their mission in Somalia.

France will assist in airlifting the soldiers, whose training has been carried out with support from the US.
