Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali Minister of Commerce and Industry,
Mohamud Ahmed Adan (Geesood), met with the Ambassador of the Republic of
Türkiye to Somalia, Alper Aktas, in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters, focused on
strategic discussions aimed at strengthening the economic partnership between
the two nations.
The two officials explored practical strategies to deepen
bilateral trade relations, identify new investment opportunities, and expand
industrial cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye.
Minister Geesood emphasized the importance of fostering an
effective and results-oriented economic partnership, noting that such
collaboration is vital for accelerating the growth of Somalia’s domestic trade
and industrial sectors—key pillars of the country’s national economic agenda.
Both Minister Geesood and Ambassador Aktas reaffirmed their
commitment to advancing shared trade and investment goals and to strengthening
the overall working relationship between the two nations.
Türkiye and Somalia have strengthened their cooperation over
the past decade in the areas of security, defense, economy, and education.
