Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali Police Force, particularly officers
stationed at the Garasbaley Police Station in Mogadishu, arrested two men on
Friday accused of robbing civilians.
According to authorities, the two suspects — both government
soldiers — were apprehended while carrying out a robbery in the Siinka Dheer
area of the Garasbaley district in Mogadishu.
A brief statement from the Banadir Regional Police Command
said the men accused of robbing civilians will be referred to the appropriate
courts for prosecution.
The two arrested soldiers, identified as Mustaf Nisaam
Mohamed and Anas Mohamed Mumin, were reportedly wearing government police
uniforms at the time of their arrest.
The Banadir Regional Police Command urged the residents of
Mogadishu to cooperate with the security forces and report any information
related to criminal activity in order to maintain safety and stability in the
capital.
The arrests come as security forces in Mogadishu have
recently intensified operations to curb criminal activity and improve safety
across the districts of the Banadir region.
