Mogadishu (HOL) – At least three brothers from the same
family were killed by armed militias while working on their farm in the Lower
Shabelle region, residents said on Wednesday.
The incident, which locals described as a clan-related
revenge attack, occurred in the Dudumaaye area under Wanlaweyn district.
According to residents, the victims were farmers engaged in
their daily work and had no involvement in any ongoing conflict.
The killings have sparked fear and grief among the local
community, who are calling on the government and security forces to address the
deteriorating security situation in the area.
So far, neither the Wanlaweyn district administration nor
security authorities have issued a statement regarding the attack, and no
arrests have been reported.
The incident adds to a growing pattern of violence in parts
of the Lower Shabelle region, where farmers frequently face threats and
harassment from armed groups.
