The meeting, chaired by Banadir Regional Police Commander Mahdi Omar Mumin, brought together station chiefs from across the region to coordinate patrols and enhance cooperation between security forces and local communities. Officials said the security plan covers all major roads leading to Mogadishu Stadium, where Warsheikh and Howlwadaag districts will face off in the highly anticipated final.
Commander Mahdi ordered heightened screening and restricted access around the stadium, warning that no weapons or unauthorized items would be permitted near the venue. He directed officers to maintain visibility before, during, and after the match, describing security preparedness as vital to public safety.
The police chief stressed the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and residents, calling mutual trust “the foundation of stability” in the capital.
Authorities say additional police units will be deployed to ensure the match unfolds peacefully and in celebration of the city’s growing sports culture.
