Dhusamareeb (HOL) — Security forces in Galmudug have
arrested two individuals suspected of murdering a woman and her children in the
Qayib area of the Galgaduud region, officials said on Friday.
Authorities said a search is ongoing for a third suspect
believed to have been involved in the crime. The two suspects are currently in
custody and will be handed over to the relevant legal authorities for further
investigation and prosecution.
According to local officials, the killings were linked to
clan-related violence in central Somalia — a recurring source of instability in
the region.
The brutal incident has triggered widespread outrage and
renewed calls for the federal government to take stronger action to curb
clan-based conflicts and protect civilians, particularly women and children,
who are often caught in the crossfire.
