Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre met with Qatari Ambassador to Somalia, Dr. Abdullah Bin Salem Al Nuaimi, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing Qatar’s role in Somalia’s development efforts.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in key areas including security, infrastructure, and implementation of Somalia’s newly launched National Transformation Plan (NTP).
Prime Minister Hamsa emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in accelerating national progress and expressed appreciation for Qatar’s ongoing support.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office highlighted Qatar’s contributions to Somalia’s reconstruction, particularly in infrastructure development and the delivery of essential services such as education and healthcare.
Ambassador Al Nuaimi reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting the Somali government and its people, pledging continued collaboration across the development and humanitarian sectors.
The meeting comes as Somalia intensifies military operations against terrorist groups and pursues broader reforms aimed at achieving long-term peace and stability.
