FC Barcelona striker Raphinha scored an impressive hat-trick as his side claimed an important 4-1 win at home to Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian, who on Tuesday said he had felt 'disrespected' by photoshopped images over the summer of Spain international Nico Williams wearing his shirt, showed why selling him over the summer would have been a big error with a stellar performance.

The game was less than a minute old when the Brazilian put Barca ahead after running behind the Bayern defense after a pass from Fermin Lopez and then keeping cool to beat Manuel Neuer in his 100th game for Barca.

Bayern reacted well and were unlucky to see Harry Kane's header ruled out for offside for a minuscule offside in the buildup.

Kane made no mistake after 18 minutes with a volleyed finish to Serge Gnabry's cross to level the score.

A pass from Kane almost set up Michael Olise for a second goal in an end-to-end game before striker Lewandowski put Barca ahead with a controversial second goal.

Lopez pushed Raphael Guerreiro just enough for the defender to nod the ball backward and then lifted the ball over Neuer for Lewandowski to put it into the empty net, with the VAR not punishing Lopez's 'foul'.

There were no doubts over Raphinha's second goal for Barca, as he cut inside, held off a defender, and curled a shot past Neuer on the stroke of halftime.

Both sides had chances in the second half, but with Barca defending slightly deeper, it was Raphinha who completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute when he ran onto a diagonal pass down the left to score with a left-foot shot beyond Neuer.

Atletico Madrid had a less happy night as they surrendered an early lead at home to Lille to lose 3-1.

Julian Alvarez put Atletico ahead after just eight minutes, and Atletico then missed several chances to extend their lead before Edon Zhegrova pulled Lille level just after the hour with a shot that went in after clipping a defender.

Jonathan David then scored a 74th-minute penalty after a foul from Koke and then added Lille's third with a shot that took a deflection on its way past Jan Oblak.

Lille have now beaten Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in their last two Champions League matches, while Atletico have conceded seven goals.
