Somali Prime Minister and Qatari counterpart discuss cooperation and latest developments in Somalia

    Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani in Doha on Monday.

    During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and develop these relations, along with the latest developments in Somalia.

    The Qatari Prime Minister reiterated Qatar's unwavering support for Somalia and all efforts to achieve security and stability and ensure the country's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

    Prime Minister Barre, leading a high-level government delegation, attended the Somali Diaspora Conference, which began on Monday in Doha, Qatar. He highlighted the significant role of the Somali diaspora in the political, economic, educational, and security sectors and in state-building efforts.

    He emphasized the importance of recognizing the diaspora's contributions to Somalia's development and thanked Qatar for its support and for hosting the conference.
