Al Shabab attack Somali army base in Galgadud region

    Mogadishu (HOL) - The Somali National Army (SNA) repelled an al-Shabaab attack on one of its bases in the central region on Tuesday morning.

    The state media reported that the assault occurred in Masagway village, situated in the Galgadud region, but did not disclose the casualties of the attack.

    This incident comes days after the group attacked a Ugandan troops' base, serving under the ATMIS in the Lower Shabelle region.

    The AU mission did not reveal the number of casualties, saying it will continue working closely with the Somali government and other international partners to protect the country from al-Shabab and other armed groups.
