Mogadishu (HOL) - The Somali Civil Aviation Authority has warned domestic airline companies after receiving an increasing number of complaints from passengers about delayed flights in recent weeks.

In a statement, the Authority specified that passengers could not be held for more than three hours at the Aden Adde International Airport terminal in Mogadishu. Airlines were also instructed to schedule appointments for passengers only after confirming the aircraft's safety with a check.

"Starting May 2, 2023, companies will be prohibited from summoning passengers to the airport without a corresponding aircraft. We will not open a counter for a company that does not have an airplane," the statement said.

Maandeeq Airlines apologized for the delays affecting passengers on their Monday flights, citing an issue with the aircraft that caused the return journey to take longer than expected.

Passengers have accused domestic airline companies of neglecting and delaying their flights and sometimes cancelling flights without notifying them.
