Hargeisa (HOL) - Somaliland's Minister of Information, Saleeban Yusuf Ali Koore, has denied reports that armed forces attacked him in his office.
"Every morning, I wake up to such fake news. When they say that he is under attack and when they say that he has resigned, so many people who know you are troubled by the fake news, and they take it as true. I am saying they are liars, and I have no problem with that kind of fake news," said Koore.
Reports indicated that armed forces, angry about the ongoing conflict in Las Anod, attacked the minister in his office this week.
However, Minister Koore, also the spokesperson of the Somaliland government, is one of the officials who are a close friend of President Muse Bihi. Traditional elders from the Sool region have accused him of being part of the officials making the situation in Las Anod more difficult.
Over two hundred people have been killed, and close to 200,000 have been displaced in the Las Anod conflict.
