A plane carrying the blast victims was greeted at Aden Adde International Airport by Emirati Ambassador Ahmed Juma Al-Rumaythi.

Al Shabaab was responsible for the double explosion on October 29 near the Federal Ministry of Education offices, killing over 120 and wounding an additional 300. The deadly terror attack occurred at the same busy intersection where al-Shabab militants killed over 500 people five years earlier in a similar truck bomb attack.

Following the attack, seven of the most seriously wounded were airlifted to the United Arab Emirates for further medical treatment.

Health officials in Somalia said that some of the victims are still in the UAE receiving treatment and would return to Somalia when they recover.
