PM Hamza in Ethiopia for annual security forum

Mogadishu (HOL) - A delegation led by Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre arrived in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, on Thursday afternoon.

The delegation was welcomed at the Addis Ababa airport by the Deputy Chairman of the Ethiopian ruling party, Barwako Adan Farah, the President of the Somali regional government in Ethiopia, Mustafa Mohamed Cagjar and other officials.

Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre will attend the Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa which will be taking place in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.

The Tana Forum was created by the Institute for Peace and Security Studies, an Ethiopian think tank based out of the  University of Addis Ababa.

The annual forum hosts heads of state, academics, policymakers and business leaders.

This year's programme is titled: "Managing Security Threats: Building Resilience for the Africa We Want."

While in Addis Ababa, Prime Minister Hamza met with Somalia's U-17 football players who secured their first Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) final.

Prime Minister Hamza praised the players, their coach, and the Football Federation officials for their historic victory, telling the young players that Somalis worldwide were cheering them on in the finals.

Somalia's youth football team will face South Sudan in the final on Saturday.
