Somaliland police arrest suspect who allegedly beheaded toddler

    Hargeisa (HOL) - Police in Somalia's breakaway region of Somaliland announced on Saturday that they made an arrest in the shocking beheading murder of a two-year-old girl

    The suspect, Said Ismail Hassan,  was apprehended in Somaliland's capital, Hargeisa.

    The assailant attempted to flee the city but was captured by local police.

    Nashad Sakriye Hassan was brutally murdered in the Sheikh Nur neighbourhood of Hargeisa, Somaliland's capital.

    "Somaliland police forces have arrested the suspect and will be brought to justice," the police said in a statement.

    Police did not provide any additional information about the killing and its motive.
