Mogadishu (HOL) - A delegation led by the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals of Somalia, Abdirisaaq Omar Mohamed, attended the African Oil Week conference held in Cape Town, South Africa on Tuesday.
The conference was attended by African Ministers of Oil and Gas and more than 400 executives of IOCs, where they discussed the development of the energy sector.
The Federal Government of Somalia has recently approved laws and protocols for oil-related organizations led by the Federal government's Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals.
Somalia's petroleum minister said that the government is trying to introduce the world to Somalia's untapped oil and gas.
Africa Oil Week is an annual conference that brings together petroleum industry captains, government leaders, academia, and non-governmental organizations to deliberate on various matters in the oil and gas sector.
The weeklong Africa Oil Week conference is held under the theme, 'Sustainable Growth in a Low-Carbon Market.'
