Somali President visits Somali Navy brigade undergoing training in Eritrea

Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accompanied by his Eritrean counterpart, Isaias Afwerki, visited a brigade of the Somali Navy force undergoing training in Eritrea.
Speaking to the recruits, the President commended them for their commitment to defending their country, outlining the government's plans to rebuild the Armed Forces to ensure security in the country.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud added the troops are of great importance in rebuilding the Somali army and encouraging the country's liberation from extremist groups.
The president has not yet commented on when the soldiers will be repatriated to Somalia. The troops have been in Eritrea for over three years.
