Suicide bomber strikes in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (HOL) - A suicide bomber in Mogadishu killed at least four people on Tuesday and injured another ten following an attack at a cafe near a military base.

Residents reported hearing a powerful explosion in the Wadajir district of Banadir region in the early evening.

The blast occurred outside of a tea shop. The bomber appeared to target Somali government soldiers training at the General Dhagaban military camp.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.

Somali police officers and ambulances arrived at the blast scene to investigate and transport victims.

The latest attack comes just two days after another Al-Shabaab suicide bomber targeted the Prime Minister’s spokesman, Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu while travelling down Makkah Al Mukarama St. Moalimu survived the attack but has since been airlifted to Istanbul for advanced medical treatment.
