Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia's Lower House Parliamentary Speaker, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, on Friday morning denied reports that he accepted the parliamentary seat HOP086 won by former NISA chief Fahad Yasin.

Speaker Madobe said that his office was aware of the social media reports - including a fake press release -  but categorically denied that the embattled former spy chief was allowed to sit in Somalia's Lower House of Parliament.

Fahad Yasin was elected as an MP for seat HOP086 in Beledweyne on February 20, but the Federal Electoral Implementation Team (FEIT), led by Muse Guelleh Yusuf, suspended the results citing mass electoral fraud.

The head of the electoral commission ordered re-election after receiving complaints about the credibility of the delegates.

Fahad Yasin appealed to the Supreme Court to force the federal election commission to certify the results of his election. In his lawsuit, Yasin dismissed allegations of poll fraud.

The Attorney General asked the Supreme Court to dismiss Yassin's lawsuit, adding that the FEIT followed the correct electoral procedure.

In late April, the Supreme Court rejected Fahad's case, ruling in favour of FEIT.

Former election chair Muse Gelle Yusuf was also forced to deny reports that Fahad was joining Parliament in May following the Presidential elections.

The Office of the Speaker of the Lower House Parliament said that a fake document was circulating on social media. Speaker Madobe categorically denied that Fahad Yasin would be joining the Lower House as an MP.
