"This country cannot have two courts; all Al-Shabaab courts should be shut down," the minister said, adding that the al Shabaab court in Basra village, which is on the outskirts of the Deyniile district, needs to be shut down as soon as possible. Outside that court seems to be an airport with many cars parked."

He underlined that the only way the people can get justice is through the country's courts, especially those in the Banadir region, to reduce the large amount of money they take from the people.

Somalia’s government has warned citizens against traveling to Al Shabab courts to seek justice for land and family disputes.
