GAROWE (HOL) - Allow Prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to spearhead the implementation of the electoral process including key election security arrangements in accordance with 27 May poll agreement, Puntland leader, Saed Abdullahi Deni told outgoing president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
"To dispute over the May 27th election agreement would ashamed of the signatories of the deal. I hope the agreement goes ahead and gives the PM a chance to hold the election," Deni said. “Farmaajo made it clear last May that he handed over security and election responsibility to the PM. He should allow Roble to do his job.”
The leader further urged both Farmaajo and Roble to iron out the political dispute ahead of the country’s presidential election.
The remarks of the leaders come barely a day after two leaders 'failed to resolve their differences'.
The meeting between Farmaajo and Roble ended in a stalemate, with PM Roble's side showing maturity, according to Galmudug State minister Omar Shido
In a Facebook post, Shido. pointed fingers at Farmaajo Friday noting the outgoing President had become an obstacle to the talks.
"As you are aware, the President of Galmudug, Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoorqoor) has been working on resolving the dispute over the Ikraan Tahliil case, which has caused a great deal of controversy between President Farmajo and Prime Minister Roble.
The collapse of the talks could adversely affect preparations for the next phase of elections which involves voting for the 275 members of Lower House.
