The leadership of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslim which visited the DCI headquarters on Saturday said Kinoti had assured them they were already investigating the matter and would give them a response in seven days.

The local media reported that Abdisamad was accosted by four men along Turbman road in Nairobi’s Central Business District at about 10 am local time and forced into a double cabin pick up on September 8.

The circumstances surrounding the kidnap of the outspoken scholar remain unclear, Abdisamad was known for his support on Twitter of Somali president Mohamed Farmaajo.

In his last tweet before he was kidnapped, Abdisamad lashed out at the appointment of General Bashi Gobe by PM Mohamed Roble as NISA director terming Gobe a ‘rearguard’ for the UK and EU in Somalia.

The National Transport and Safety Agency (NTSA) said the registration number of the vehicle Abdisamad was bundled into was fake noting it did not exist in its records.
