JIGJIGA (HOL) - A couple has been appointed to serve as ministers in the new Somali State administration in Ethiopia following the recent elections.
In the 57 member cabinet, Warsan Awil was appointed the minister of natural resources while her husband, Abokor Daakir was picked as deputy minister of irrigation. There was no immediate information on whether the two previously served in government.
Mustafa Agjar was re-elected last week for a second five-year term by the state assembly.
The state also elected Ayan Abdi as the speaker making her the first woman to serve in the position.
