Kismayo (HOL) - The Somali government said that Al-Shabaab militants were hit with airstrikes on Thursday in southern Somalia.
The military said that four Al-Shabaab bases were hit, resulting in death in injuries.
"Airstrikes were carried out in Garbaharey district where the Al-Shabaab fighters were hiding. The strikes destroyed four enemy bases and inflicted heavy casualties including deaths and injuries."
Who carried out the strike or the exact number of casualties was not disclosed by the SNA. Still, the US frequently conducts airstrikes against Al-Shabaab targets with cooperation from Somalia's army.
