Mogadishu (HOL) - The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, strongly condemned the Hodan district commissioner's assassination in Mogadishu last night.
"I send my condolences to the family and friends of the late Abdikarin Dhagajuun, Hodan district commissioner, who passed away last night in Mogadishu.
He called on security agencies to conduct a full investigation into the incident.
An investigation was underway into the murder of the district commissioner.
Police are questioning and arresting station commanders in Howl-wadaag and Waberi districts and have detained officers at the checkpoint who fired shots at the commissioner's car.
Banadir regional administration says Hodan district commissioner Abdi Karim Dhagajuun was killed after an exchange of gunfire between government security. Dhagajuun had just arrived in the capital on Tuesday after undergoing treatment in Turkey for injuries he sustained in a previous IED attack.
