Kismayo (HOL) - The Presidents of South West State and Jubaland have concluded their two-day meeting in Kismayo on Friday, discussing the ongoing drought, security, trade, and the electoral process, according to a communique released by their respective offices.
South West President Abdiaziz Lafta-Gareen and Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe promised to cooperate on providing relief for drought victims.
The two regional leaders also agreed to scale up interstate trade between their states. During Lafta-Gareen’s visit, he toured Kismayo’s port.
In their communique, the two leaders said that elections were crucial in advancing Somalia and called on stakeholders to complete the process.
