A statement released by the Federal Government following an address to journalists by information Minister Osman Dubbe noted that both Kenya and Djibouti were bent on interfering with the result of the AU meeting.

“It has come to our attention that two AUSPC members, namely the Republic of Kenya and the Republic of Djibouti, are engaged in sinister  campaigns aimed at derailing the political process in Somalia by trying to influence the outcome of the of AUPSC meeting to the detriment of  the future of the Somali people,” the statement read in part.

It was not however clear in what way the two neighboring countries would influence the outcome of the talks.

President Mohamed Farmaajo announced during a visit on Monday to DRC that he will be welcoming the intervention of the African Union in the ongoing electoral stalemate in Somalia.

The AUPSC met Thursday morning but there was no statement yet by the time this article was published.
