Mogadishu (HOL) - A military officer who forced two civilians to work on his farm and later killed one following a scuffle has been sentenced to death by a military court in Mogadishu.
The court booked constable Abdirahman Abdulle Hilowle a date with the firing squad after finding him guilty of shooting dead Hussein Ahmed Abdulle and injuring Yasin Gedow Hussein in Bullo-Marer locality in Lower Shabelle October 30, 2019.
According to the prosecution, the soldier treated the two as slaves in his farm prompting a quarrel which resulted in a shoot-out on the material day. Hilowle opened fire on the two killing Abdulle and injuring Hussein, the court heard.The defendant was arrested by the military and handed to the court for trial. He has the right of appeal within 30 days.
