Minneapolis (HOL) - Minnesota's Department of Health is reportig a total of 64 new deaths attributed to the coronavirus with close to 5,500 new cases as of Sunday morning. A total of 350,862 people have been infected since March, which includes 18,233 hospitalizations and 3,984 deaths.
Currently, there are close to 367 people in the state who are currently in hospital in the intensive care unit, another 1,600 people have been admitted to Minnesota hospitals.
The latest numbers come as Minnesota tested over 60,000 people in a single day for COVID-19. Over 2.6 million Minnesotan's have been tested for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
All of the 64 most recent deaths were aged between 55-100. Over half of the victims lived in long-term care facilities. People aged 65 and over, and who reside in long-term care homes are at the greatest risk of death as are those with underlying health conditions.
