BOSSASO (HOL) - A military court in Puntland has sentenced to death one of the key leaders of the militant group Al-Shabaab in the region and slaped four others to jail terms of between ten and twenty years.
Puntland State Army Court sitting in Bosaso declared the five guilty of belonging to Al-Shabaab and the ISIS wing in Somalia.
The court found Muhumed Mohamed Saed guilty of belonging to Al-Shabaab and leading the recruitment of militants which have conducted various attacks in the state.
The three were arrested in a recent military operation in the region and their sentencing came barely a week after four other Al-Shabaab and ISIS militants were sentenced by the same court.
ISIS established itself in Galgala mountain ranges in Puntland in 2015 led by former UK based preached Abdulqadir Mumin.
