MOGADISHU (HOL) - Prime Minister Mohamed Roble has engaged members of the international community in one of this first assignments since taking office this week.
The new PM held talks Tuesday with members of the international community among them EU, AMISOM, UN and a number of envoys in the country.
A tweet from the PM’s office noted the meeting was instrumental in forging relations with the international community adding the PM singled out reforms in security, economy among his priority areas.
“I held an informative meeting with members of the diplomatic community in my office. We emphasized the need to deepen ties towards the completion of ongoing reforms in security, economy, institutional rebuilding, reconciliation, constitutional review, elections, and other priorities,” the tweet read.
Critical for Roble will be securing international support for his new government which has the immediate task of preparing the country for elections slated for later in the year.
The new is expected to name a cabinet in coming days which will require parliamentary approval before kicking off business.
