MOGADISHU (HOL) - Newly appointed Prime Minister Mohamed Roble is set to make his first foreign visit today to Kuwait where he is expected to condole with the gulf nation following the death of their leader.
The office of the Prime Minister said Sunday the PM will be meeting the new emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Saba.
He will also be paying his respects to the departed emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah who died in the US at the age of 91.The Somali Prime Minister will be engaging with the Kuwaiti leadership on supporting the country’s debt relief process, the state news agency SONNA reports.
Roble Saturday appealed for international donor support for the upcoming elections to ‘ensure free, fair and timely elections’.
Gulf nations particularly Qatar and UAE have played a key role in Somali’s elections process and have outrightly went out in support of candidates of choice.
