Somalia records 45 COVID19 recoveries, 97 new cases

MOGADISHU (HOL) -  The number of COVID19 cases in Somalia Thursday rose to 1828 after 97 more people tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health has this evening announced 97 more infections with majority of the cases recorded in Banaadir region and the break away region of Somaliland.

The government also reported the highest number of recovered cases in a day putting at 45. In total now, 310 people have recovered from the global pandemic.

The death toll rose by five today to hit 72 nationwide since the first case was recorded in March 16, 2020.

Out of today’s cases, 35 are from Banaadir region which encompasses the capital Mogadishu followed by Somaliland with 32 cases.

Southwest recorded 22 while eight cases were noted in Puntland.

Further, out of today’s cases 69 are male while 28 are female.
