Monday June 8, 2020

MOGADISHU (HOL) - Police in Mogadishu Monday said a number of its officers had been arrested in connection with bribery claims following complaints from members of the public in rare case of anti-corruption efforts within the police force.

Addressing the media in Mogadishu, police spokesman Captain Sadik Ali Adan said the officers, whom he did not specify the number were arrested following complaints from members of the public and motorists in the city.

“We applaud the members of the public for forwarding information without which it would not have been possible to make the arrests,” said Adan.
