An Ohio nursing student who disappeared from a Minneapolis restaurant has not been seen for several days, and a Muslim advocacy group is offering a reward for information regarding her whereabouts.

Abiir Moalim, 21, was last seen late Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis at Quruxlow restaurant in the 1400 block of E. Lake Street, according to the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN). The group is calling for the public’s help in locating the woman, whom it describes as a Muslim of Somali heritage.

The group said it is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.

“She was eating with her mother and grandfather when she got up and went to the restroom,” a statement from the group said.

She never returned and did not have her phone with her, the statement continued.

Moalim was wearing a black jacket, dark-beige head scarf and a long black dress, CAIR-MN added.

Police spokesman John Elder said, “We are actively investigating this case, but there is not much to go on at this point. She left the restaurant by herself, and there is no indication of foul play.”

Elder urged anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or 911 if she is spotted.

Moalim is studying nursing at Columbus State Community College in Ohio’s capital city, CAIR-MN said.
